Poem 4

Just over the horizon, it’s not very far

I know in my heart that’s just where you are

Are you sheilding your eyes from the bright mid-day sun

While I sit in darkness and imagine your fun

Are you laughing and doing the things you love best

Or is it cold over there; did you remember your vest?

Are you building a snowman or have you a sledge

Do you know that I’m waiting right on the edge

I know I can see you, I know that you’re there

I know I can feel you, it’s the bond that we share

Are you looking for me as I’m looking for you

Or does bright light surround you and keep me from view

I know that you’re waiting, I have to believe

That you’ll be there to greet me when it’s time to leave

Please tell me you’re waiting, send some sort of sign

Tell me you love me and that you are still mine

You’re just over the horizon, not far like I say

But never any closer than it was yesterday

  1. Very nice, especially “Are you building a snowman or have you a sledge
Do you know that I’m waiting right on the edge”
